Why we use soy wax?
Good morning to you all! I wanted to share a little insight into my candle choices and why soy wax has become my go-to. For me it's not just a trend; it's a conscious decision rooted in both environmental responsibility and a desire for a better burning experience.
A big consideration for me is that soya wax is eco-friendly and sustainable. Soy wax is derived from soybeans, a natural and renewable resource grown by farmers. Unlike traditional paraffin wax, which is a byproduct of petroleum (a fossil fuel), soy wax is biodegradable and sustainable. This directly supports soybean farmers and the agricultural industry. It's a small way to contribute to a more sustainable and ethical supply chain. Choosing soy wax candles means supporting environmentally conscious practices and reducing our reliance on non-renewable resources. It feels good to know that my little moments of indulgence aren't costing the earth.
Soy wax also gives a cleaner burn. This means less soot, a healthier environment for you and your loved ones, and a longer lifespan for walls and furniture! The air quality in your home will thank you.
Soy wax candles provide a longer burn time. Soy wax candles tend to burn slower and more evenly than paraffin candles. This means you get more hours of that delightful fragrance and warm glow for your money. It's an investment in longer-lasting enjoyment.
Soy wax also has a fantastic ability to hold and release fragrance. While it might have a more subtle scent throw initially compared to paraffin, the fragrance lingers beautifully and fills the room gently and consistently over the entire burn time. I find the scents from soy wax candles to be more natural and true to their essence.
Because soy wax is a natural product, it doesn't release harmful toxins into the air when burned. This makes it a safer option, especially for those with allergies or sensitivities, and for households with children and pets. You can breathe easier knowing you're not inhaling potentially harmful chemicals.
I appreciate that accidents can happen! If you happen to spill a little melted soy wax, you'll be relieved to know that it's much easier to clean up than paraffin wax. A little warm water and soap are usually all you need, saving your furniture and carpets from stubborn stains.
For me, the choice of using soy wax in our candles is a no-brainer. The benefits for the environment, health, and enjoyment are undeniable. It's a small luxury that aligns with our values and enhances my everyday moments. So, the next time you're looking to fill your home with beautiful light and fragrance, consider opting for a soy wax candle. You might just find yourself falling in love with its gentle charm and all the wonderful benefits it brings.
Have a wonderful day!
