Candle care guide

Igniting Your Soul, One Candle, One breath at a Time

To ensure your candle burns cleanly and evenly, and to maximise its fragrance, please follow these simple care tips.

First burn

Burn time

For the first burn, allow your candle to burn for a minimum of 3-4 hours. This will create an even melt pool and prevent tunneling. Tunneling occurs when the wax around the wick melts, but the centre remains solid.

Subsequent burns

Trim the wick

Before each burn, trim your wick to ¼ inch. This will prevent smoking, soot, and a weak flame.

Even burn

To ensure an even burn, keep the melted wax pool free of debris.

Burn time

Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
If soot forms on the inside extinguish candle, wait for it to cool, then wipe with a damp cloth. Trim wick and relight.

Extinguish safely

Use a candle snuffer

To avoid smoke and soot, use a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle.

Never blow out

Blowing out a candle can cause wax splatters and weaken the wick.

Safety reminders

Never leave your candles unattended, and placed away from drafts, children and pets. Candles should always be placed on a heat-resistant base and stable surface.

Storage

Cool, dark place

Store your candle in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
